Market Note

Dear Investors & Friends,

The summer was fiery for sure, giving us a bit of everything from tech enthusiasm, Fed speeches that pushed the market to new highs and inflation giving us mixed signals about whether it is truly under control or it is hiding amid the summer fun.

With a new season and school starting up again, the market is also having a bit of summer blues. We started the month off with markets trading down as the bond market drove the narrative. The spike in long term yields signaled concerns over the economy, while tariff uncertainty resurfaced after a federal judge deeming some of the tariffs as unconstitutional. Whether you are pro tariffs or against, uncertainty remains the primary driver of market volatility.

Safe haven assets like gold continue to reach all-time highs, showing a flight to safety and highlighting continued cracks in the traditional 60/40 portfolio that investors have relied on. My view remains that the fixed income markets are the bigger challenge in 2025, while equities have shown resilience, with strong earnings and investor confidence.

As we move into September, a month historically known for its volatility, it is important to remember that volatility is not the enemy. Volatility is often the price we pay for long term growth within markets that help us drive forward to new levels. With the rally in big tech after Alphabet’s hearings and confidence that the Fed will remain independent, I believe in the potential for continued long term growth despite the noise in the months ahead.

Stay disciplined, stay diversified, and focused on long term goals as we push through the final stretch of the year.
Please reach out if you would like to review your allocation or discuss long term goals and strategy.

Sincerely,
